It is my pleasure as LAWASIA President to invite you to attend the 5th LAWASIA Family Law & Children’s Rights Conference from 3 to 5 July 2014 in Sapporo, Japan.
Hosted in the beautiful city of Sapporo on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido, this conference will focus on a range of cross border family law and children’s rights issues including discussion on dispute resolution, trafficking and visitation rights and more.
The specially designed program will have relevance to family law practitioners, children’s counsel, criminal lawyers, employment lawyers, immigration lawyers, judges, policy makers, academics, special education service providers, government and non government agencies.
This LAWASIA conference provides a unique opportunity for the Asia-Pacific legal sector to come together and exchange meaningful views and information on issues that affect children and families across jurisdictions and to gain perspective from the many different cultures of our region.
I particularly express LAWASIA’s gratitude to the Japan Federation of Bar Associations, the Sapporo Bar Association and the Friends of LAWASIA in Japan for their enthusiastic support and considerable assistance in arranging this event. I warmly encourage LAWASIA members and their colleagues to join Japanese counterparts in this initiative, noting that it is the fifth in a well-established series of productive conferences.
This promises to be an outstanding event and I look forward to seeing you there.
