San Lwin is a Director and Senior Lawyer of JLPW Legal Services (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. San Lwin read law at Yangon University and studied two years for LL.M majoring in the law of international institutions.
In 1976, he joined the Office of the Attorney General and carried out his duties there until his retirement from civil service in 2011 as a Director. He was a prosecutor from 1976 to 1989 and worked as legal researcher from 1989 to 1995. He vetted various business contracts and provided legal advice to the Myanmar Government on business transactions. San Lwin advises on foreign investment and doing business in Myanmar, with special expertise in mining, resources, energy, agriculture, construction, environment and forestry. He has published 12 law books and prepared many articles for various law journals and magazines. He also sent legal articles on the banking laws of Myanmar and the helthcare laws in Myanmar to the Centre for International Legal Studies, Austria.
He has served as a member of the Political, Economic and Legal Affairs Commission of the first National Assembly of Myanmar. He also serves as a member of the second Union Parliament Commission for the Assessment of Legal Affairs and Special Issues. He drafts and submits legislations to the Myanmar parliament and he is also a legal consultant to the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Construction.
