Ms Melissa K Pang, MH

President | The Law Society of Hong Kong (HONG KONG SAR)

Ms Melissa K Pang is the President of the Law Society of Hong Kong, the first female president elected in the 111-year history of the organisation. Ms has served as a Law Society Council member since 2005. She was elected Vice President of the Law Society on 2 September 2014 and re-elected in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Ms Pang currently serves as the Chairperson of Greater China Legal Affairs Committee, Consents Committee and Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Committee. She is also a member of several other committees overseeing compliance, policy and resources, external affairs, constitutional affairs and human rights, and international legal affairs.

Ms Pang has been an Executive Committee Member of LAWASIA since 2012 and was appointed Vice President in 2017.

Ms Pang is qualified to practise as a solicitor in Australia, England and Wales, and Hong Kong. She is also a Notary Public, Civil Celebrant, accredited mediator, associate member of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators, and China Appointed Attesting Officer. Her main areas of practice are commercial law, property law and litigation. She is a Partner of Pang & Associates. 

In addition to her role as Vice President of LAWASIA, Ms Pang represents the Law Society at the Hong Kong Legal Aid Services Council. She serves as Chair of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education and is a member of the Independent Police Complaints Council, Standing Committee on Disciplined Services Salaries & Conditions of Service, and Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Ms Pang was awarded the Medal of Honor and Justice of the Peace by the Government of Hong Kong SAR for her devotion to public services.
