Mr Saroj K Ghimire

Saroj K Ghimire is an Attorney at Law at Supreme Court of Nepal and Prof. of Law at Tribhuvan University of Nepal and holds dual LL.M from United Kingdom and India. He is the Ex. Treasurer of Supreme Court Bar Association and Coordinator of International Relation Committee of Supreme Court Bar Association Nepal.

Mr Ghimire is one of the renowned young lawyers of Nepal appearing in high profile corporate cases and representing in PIL cases for human rights protection, data protection, environmental justice, prisoners’ rights, fair trial, right to privacy and right to information etc. He has also appeared before the Nineteen justices’ largest bench ever formed at the Supreme Court in the matters of interpretation and extension of law of limitation due to Covid-19 and the PIL Mr Ghimire filed, the Supreme Court has made landmark judgement securing legal aid and access to justice against domestic and gender-based violence, women’s human rights protection during Covid-10 and framing of pandemic laws and inclusion of women in all decision-making bodies.

Mr Ghimire has attended various trainings and professional legal courses at Sweden, Thailand, Myanmar, China, USA, South Korea and India and has delivered guest lectures at the various Universities in other jurisdictions including India, China and UK. He has been the speaker at various international conferences of International Bar Association (IBA) at Miami 2022, Seoul 2018, Sydney 2017, LAWASIA Annual Conference at Sydney 2023 and Kathmandu 2012, LAWASIA Human Rights Conference Delhi 2019 and Virtual conference 2021, Various LAWASIA Webinars, Asia Pro Bono Conference (APBC) at Laos 2022, Kathmandu 2019, SAARC LAW Conference 2017, Law Society of China Conference on Legal Issues 2016 and Speaker at the Bar Association of India ( BAI) International Conference on Rule of Law 2023 Delhi. He has also performed as judge in the LAWASIA Moot Court Competition at Sydney 2022 and all India Philip Jessup Moot Court Competition at Delhi 2019 apart from being Speaker at various national conferences. He trained Constituent Assembly Members, Lawyers and political party leaders on constitutionalism and constitution making process during constitution making process of Nepal.

He is the Managing Partner of Himalayan Lawyers & Associates based in Kathmandu Nepal.
